UGA Mail: UGA Email Access 2022-2023

University of Georgia Mail is a set of web-based applications provided by Microsoft Office 365.

How to log in to UGA Mail account

You can access UGA Mail via the subsequent locations:

  • MyUGA Portal
  • UGAMail homepage

To Login,

  • Go to ugamail.uga.edu
  • Select “Sign in to UGAMail”
  • Enter your email address in Microsoft Outlook
  • Then, click “Next” to access your email and enter your password.

Ensure that you have entered the right URL, which is ugamail.uga.edu. Simply click the UGAMail symbol. You will be routed to the Office 365 login page for Microsoft.

On the login page, be sure to enter your UGA Mail address in its entirety, including “@uga.edu.” For instance: “joeuser@uga.edu.” Then, enter the UGA Mail password associated with your account.

When off-campus, ArchPass authentication is required. Ensure that you have your enrolled device with you when you log into your email account.

Whenever a MyID is generated, a UGA Mail email account is also created. Some students may choose to forward their UGA Mail email to an alternative address.

Any student who chooses to forward their UGA Mail messages to a different email account bears full responsibility for reading the messages at the forwarded destination.

At least once per week, students are expected to check their University email account or the account to which their University email is forwarded.

This policy applies to email addresses listed in the UGA Online Phonebook. All students whose directory information has not been restricted will have their UGA Mail email address included in the online directory.

How to set up your UGA MyID and MyID profile

  • Here are the steps to create your UGA MyID Profile.
  • accounts@uga.edu will send you an e-mail. This email will be sent to the secondary email address you gave to the University.
  • This email will provide your MyID username and password-setting instructions.
  • Click the MyID password configuration link in the email. This address will appear as “myidprofile.uga.edu/passwordReset/initial.”
  • You should now be on the page to reset your MyID password. Enter your MyID username, and then click the verify MyID link in the bottom-left corner of the page.
  • On the screen for Changing Your MyID Password, enter your new password. Guidelines for UGA passwords are listed at the bottom of this page.
  • After entering your password, click change password in the lower-right corner of the page.
  • You should now be on a page indicating that the password change was successful. Click the login button in the bottom-right corner of the page.
  • Enter your MyID username and newly established MyID password to log in.
  • You have successfully logged in to the MyID Profile Page. From here, proceed as follows:
    • Configure Security Questions
    • Configure your verification system

Set up your security questions

  • Under step 1 on the MyID Profile Page, click Your Secret Questions.
  • The initial two questions are Self Questions. You have created both the questions and the answers. Fill in the blanks with questions and answers you can recall and that cannot be easily retrieved. If it can be found on Facebook, do not utilize it.
  • Your Security Questions are the final three questions. You must select one of the available questions and then respond to each. Make certain these are responses you can easily recall!
  • Once all of the questions and answers have been entered, click Save Secret Questions in the bottom-left corner of the page.

Setup your verification method

To verify using your mobile device:

  • Click verify with your mobile device under step 2.
  • Enter the phone number of the mobile device you wish to register, and then click Register Mobile Phone.
  • Your mobile device will get a text message containing a passcode. Up to 30 minutes may be required to access your phone.
  • Enter the obtained passcode, and your device is officially registered!

To verify using an external (non UGA) email:

  • Click verify with external email under step 2.
  • Include the email address that you wish to use. Please be aware that this is not your UGA email address.
  • Select Register Email Address from the menu.
  • It will request a passcode. Go to the specified email address. We will send you an email with the passcode. It could take up to 30 minutes for your email to arrive.
  • Enter the obtained passcode, and your email is now registered!

How to change your email alias

  • Head to myid.uga.edu
  • Click “Change UGAMail Address” in the column on the left.
  • Sign in with your existing MyID and password.
  • To send a new email, click the “New Email” button. If you have previously modified your alias, click the “Edit” link next to the last entry in the list.
  • In the “New UGAMail Address” section, enter the address as you’d like it to look. With regard to this address:
    • It may contain both small characters and numbers, but it cannot consist entirely of numbers.
    • It may have a single period but no extra characters (such as,:@!).
    • It must have at least two and no more than thirty characters.
