San Jac SOS is a safe online system for students at San Jacinto College. It is a resource for viewing final grades, transcripts, registering for classes, and obtaining financial aid details, among other things.

To take advantage of what San Jacinto College has to offer, a few straightforward steps are required. Follow this advice to prepare for the technological requirements of college.

How to log into San Jac SOS

  • Navigate to
  • If you click the SOS LOGIN button, you will be redirected to the login page.
  • On the page for SOS Login;
  • Enter your login ID
  • Provide your password.
  • To access your student portal dashboard, click Sign In.

To access San Jac SOS, you will want your Student ID and password.

Your SOS password is the one you established when you initially claimed your account.

How to claim your San Jac SOS account

Prior to accessing the majority of San Jacinto College’s systems, all students must reclaim their accounts.

The Account Claim Process permits new users to generate security questions, create a password, and get their User ID (G#).

You can claim your account by following the procedures below:

  • Click here to claim your account on the San Jac SOS Login website at
  • Input your first name, last name, zip code, and birth date in the designated fields. Ensure that your date of birth is entered in the following format when you type it: MM/DD/YYYY (Example: 01/07/2003).
  • Follow the link to the Computer Usage Policy document and read it (opens in a new window).
  • Check the box next to I certify that I have read the computer privileges and responsibilities policy and that I agree to abide by it, and then click Next. If you are having trouble claiming your account, please contact Tech Support at 281-998-6137.
  • Enter a password for your account in the New Password and Verify New Password areas on the following page. Once completed, click Next. Minimum password length is eight characters, and it must contain at least one number and one unique character.
  • On the following page, you will receive confirmation that your password has been successfully updated. Note the given G# (username) for future reference.
  • Enter your response in the text box provided for each of the presented Pre-Defined Questions. The minimum length of an answer is three characters.
  • Under User-Defined Questions, enter your question and submit a response to it.
  • Click Add Optional User-Defined Question if you want to add a security question. With each click, a new security question will be added to your account.
  • To remove the question, click the delete button (represented by a trash can).
    Once complete, click Next.
  • You will now receive a notification stating Your challenge questions have been modified successfully. You may now close your browser or select one of the two available links on this page.
  • Currently, your account has been successfully claimed. You should be able to login at this time.
  • Once you have been notified by the San Jacinto College Admissions Office/Enrollment Management Center that you have been accepted, you may visit the SOS System at to confirm that you can access San Jac SOS using your G# and the password you established.

Resetting your password

Follow these procedures if you have forgotten your password and need to reset it:

  • The Self-Service System can be accessed via
  • At the login screen, “click the Need Help? link, then Forgot My Password.”
  • A new browser window or tab will open. Enter your username and click Next when prompted. This will be your student G# (example: G00430697).
  • You will then be required to respond to your challenge questions. Enter the initial response(s) you supplied (when configuring your challenge questions) and click Next.
  • You will be prompted to create a new password on the next screen. Fill out the New Password and Verify New Password areas with your new password. Select Next.
  • You will now receive notice that your password has been updated.

How to replace a password

Follow the instructions below if you know your password and wish to utilize this system to update or change it:

  • Enter your password to access the Self-Service System at
  • On the homepage of your account, click the arrow to the right of your name, then select Change Password.
  • Enter your current password in the Current Password section of the resulting popup. Enter a new password in the New Password and Confirm New Password sections.
  • Notice that, in order to change your password, you must select a password that satisfies the current requirements. All passwords must include the following elements:
    • Minimum of eight characters, maximum of sixteen characters.
    • Must include at least one number (e.g., 1, 2, 3, 4).
    • Must contain at least one distinct character (e.g., $, #, &, *).
  • If your new password does not fulfill the requirements, you will be unable to click the “Save” button. Reviewing the information under “Your new password MUST be” will also reveal which conditions have not been completed.
  • When happy with the selected password, click Save.
  • You will be notified that your password has been changed successfully. Select Close.

How to enrol online for classes through San Jac SOS

  • Connect to San Jac SOS. To log in, enter your Student ID number (with a capital G and the given eight-digit number). Enter the password you created during account creation.
  • Select My Registration under “My Student Records” and follow the on-screen instructions. Choose the preferred registration period.
  • Enter the CRN numbers for desired classes in Step 5, Register for Classes. To save the desired classes or determine if there are registration restrictions, select Submit Changes.
  • Select the View My Schedule link at the bottom of the page when the schedule is accurate to have the system calculate the tuition and fees due.
    Submitted changes will incur additional fees if lessons have already begun.
  • Select View Fee Assessment, followed by the Student Account Suite link. Refer to the Registration and Payment Schedule for information regarding payment deadlines.
  • Before exiting the system, make sure to print your schedule and payment confirmation and verify that they are accurate. Late modifications incur additional fees. Click “Print Options – Schedule/Fee Bill” to see your schedule and fees.
