Applicants who seek to appeal an MHC decision must do so within ten (10) business days of the date of the letter of ineligibility.

The reconsideration request must be made in writing by postal mail or electronic mail to:

Executive Director
Mississippi Home Corporation
735 Riverside Dr.
Jackson MS 39202-1166

Any written appeal must state the particular reasons for appeal and provide sufficient supporting documents linked to the original application’s facts that would lead MHC to make a different judgment in analyzing the original application.

Applicants may only appeal decisions based on eligibility conditions for the program. Appeals based on the amount awarded are only permissible if the applicant believes there was a review or calculation error, and the appeal is based on facts from the initial application.

The Programs Appeal Committee will consider all appeals filed within the stipulated time range. All MHC appeal judgments are final and not subject to further administrative review or judicial review.

Maximum Income Limits Map

The map below depicts the Mississippi counties that have been identified as target counties for the purpose of expediting the ERA application validation process, based on attributes extracted from 2019 US Census Bureau data sets.

The colored counties are in greater need of help than all other counties due to a bigger proportion of their inhabitants falling below the state average.

When required on the application, applicants residing in these counties must disclose their total family income and affirm that the information provided is genuine and accurate.

Due to the fact-based proxy procedure created by MHC, applicants in these counties are not needed to provide extra household income proof.
