MyUCDavis Login: UC Davis Student Portal 2022| Guide to Access

MyUCDavis (my.ucdavis.edu) is the UC Davis student, professor, and staff portal that tries to consolidate various services and tools into one location.

One login provides access to information, the UC Davis schedule builder, UC Davis Canvas tools, the UC Davis Academic Calendar, and resources pertinent to their academic pursuits and job responsibilities.

How to create your myucdavis account

To sign up for a myucdavis account,

  • Click on Get Your UC Davis Computing Account on the Computing Accounts Page.
  • Enter your full name, ID number, and birthday.
  • Click the Submit button.
  • There will be an Acceptable Use Policy screen given to you. Please read the policy and then select to comply with it.
    • If you cannot accept the terms of service, you will be unable to register an account.
  • Continue by clicking Continue.
  • How to log into myucdavis
  • Create your UC Davis email address (@ucdavis.edu) as your first step. If the default email address (first initial – middle initial – last name) is available, it will be allocated as your email address. If the default address is already in use, you will be prompted to choose an alternate address:
    • Select a 1 to 3 letter prefix and enter it into the Prefix area. It cannot include punctuation or spaces.
    • The Lastname component will be filled in automatically, but if it is too long, it will be shortened to conform to our naming convention.
    • Please confirm that your email address is correct before clicking Continue. We do not permit email address renaming unless there is a legal name change.
  • If you’re pleased with your email address, click Continue.
  • Your new email address will be confirmed on the following screen. It will be updated overnight.
  • Continue by clicking Continue.
  • Create your LoginID, which will be your username for campus services. There will be a default LoginID generated, but you can modify it. It must contain between two and eight letters or digits and must be between two and eight characters long. It cannot include punctuation or spaces.
  • Continue by clicking Continue.
  • You will be prompted with a LoginID confirmation screen. Please check that this information is acceptable to you. It cannot be altered afterwards.
  • Continue by clicking Continue.
  • Create your Kerberos Passphrase challenge questions and Kerberos Passphrase immediately.
    • Select two questions from the drop-down menus and enter your response to each.
    • You are required to type your third question and its solution.
    • Enter your new Passphrase and then re-enter it directly below.
    • If the two fields are identical, a check mark will display to the right of them.
  • You have now set up your account and password.
    • If you are a student, click the Register my account button; your account has been successfully created.
    • The next step for employees is to enroll in Duo Multi-factor Authentication. To begin, press the Continue button in the upper portion of the screen. NOTE: If you don’t have a second device available for enrollment, you can skip this step by clicking the Register my account option. Prior to gaining access to campus services, you must visit the Computing Accounts Page to enroll in Duo.
  • You are now viewing the Duo enrollment window. Duo enrollment instructions vary based on the device you choose to enroll.
  • After completing Duo registration, the account registration process is complete.
  • You will be presented with a confirmation screen containing your LoginID and email address. Never will your Passphrase be displayed or emailed to you.

How to log into myucdavis

To gain access to myucdavis;

  • Please visit my.ucdavis.edu.
  • Select the yellow “Login” button.
  • This link will take you to the sign-in page… In other words, Central Authentication Service (CAS).
  • Provide your username on the login page.
  • Provide your Password.
  • Click “Login” to gain access to your UC Davis Portal.

How to change your current Passphrase

  • Go to Accounting for Computing.
  • Select Change Your Password.
  • Enter your credentials for authentication. It must correspond to the information on file with payroll (faculty/staff) or the registrar (students).
  • Click the Submit button.
  • Enter your Kerberos LoginID and choose Kerberos Passphrase as the authentication method.
  • Ensure the Change Password For All Services checkbox is selected.
  • Continue by clicking Continue.
  • Input your current Kerberos passphrase into the section labeled Old Kerberos passphrase.
  • Enter your new Kerberos password in the section labeled New Passphrase.
  • Enter your new Kerberos passphrase again in the section labeled Confirm Passphrase.
  • Continue by clicking Continue.
  • Click End Session after reviewing the confirmation page.

If you were successful, you will receive an email to your official @ucdavis.edu address within a few minutes. This message will not include your Passphrase. If you were unable to reset your Passphrase, try a another approach.
