FAU Canvas and MyFAU Login

Florida Atlantic University has replaced Blackboard with FAU Canvas as its Learning Management System (LMS).

Canvas is a user-friendly, cloud-based learning management system that combines all the digital tools and materials used by teachers in an one location.

It connects smoothly with hundreds of apps, providing teachers and students with a vast array of resources that facilitate teaching and learning.

How to log into fau canvas

  • Canvas is accessible through canvas.fau.edu/login/canvas.
  • Enter your email address or user ID.
  • Provide your password.
  • Select login.
  • If you have an FAU email address, visit canvas.fau.edu and enter your FAUNet ID and password to log in.

MyFAU portal

MyFAU is the student web portal for Florida Atlantic University. It provides consolidated access to e-mail, calendars, administrative services, classroom resources, and information. With a single username and password, you will have access to all of these and additional services.

To access MyFAU, utilize a web browser to go to myfau.fau.edu. Select MYFAU. Enter your FAUNetID and password to log in.

Accounts & FAUNet ID

The FAUNet ID is the account name you use to log in to numerous Florida Atlantic University services, and it is a component of your official FAU e-mail address (e.g., FAUNetID@fau.edu). FAU implements single sign-on for the majority of its apps. This implies that you will use the same FAUNet ID and password for the majority of apps available to you as a student, faculty, or staff member.

Your FAUNet ID is generated when you are admitted to Florida Atlantic University. You must activate your new FAUNet ID through the FAU Account Self-Services site before you may use it to access any FAU system.

The initial FAUNetID (username) cannot be modified. If there was a problem in the spelling of your name that affected your FAUNet ID, or if you officially changed your name, there are two exceptions. Before altering your FAUNet ID, you must have updated the university’s database with your new legal name.

Faculty and staff should contact Human Resources, while students should contact the Office of the Registrar. Once your name has been officially changed, you may file an FAUNet ID Alter request to change your FAUNet ID.

How to activate your FAUNet ID

  • Visit accounts.fau.edu and click on the option labeled “Activate your FAUNet ID.”
  • You will receive a notice that you must complete the activation process once you begin. When you’re ready, click Continue.
  • Enter your surname, FAUNetID, and birthdate. Continue by clicking Continue. (If you don’t know your FAUNetID, return to the homepage and select “Find your FAUNetID.”) Check the box and complete the CAPTCHA challenge.
  • Select Continue to continue.
  • Select the home address you provided on the application by clicking the drop-down menu.
  • You have the option of entering your phone number for future password resets, or clicking Opt-Out. After entering the phone number, select Update.
  • Enter a valid email address, then press to confirm it. Click the Update button. Your FAU email cannot serve as the recovery email.
  • The verification email will be sent to your personal email address. Subject line of the email is “FAU Account Activation Link.”
  • Click the Confirm Recovery Email button within the email you received.
  • Select Continue to complete the activation process.
  • Select the home address you provided on the application by clicking the drop-down menu.
  • Enter your new password twice to confirm it.
  • Please wait while the password is synchronized across all platforms.

  • Once it is complete, the message “Your password has been stored” will appear.

How to change your password

New account

You will be required to submit a recovery email address during the initial activation of your FAU account if you are a new student. If you ever need to reset your password in the future, you have the option of supplying a text-enabled (SMS) cell phone number to which you can get a verification code.

Existing account

You can use the “Forgot your Password” self-service function on the FAU Account Self-Services portal if you have a recovery email address or SMS (text) enabled phone number configured. This indicates that you do not need to contact the OIT Help Desk to reset your password.

Visit the FAU Accounts Services page and click “Manage Your Account” to add a recovery email address or SMS (text) phone number to your account. Log in using your FAUNet ID and current password, and then select “Change” under Password Recovery Options.

Once the recovery options have been added to your account, you will be able to use the self-service “Forgot Your Password” tool by entering your FAUNet ID.
