After releasing Checkra1n 0.12.3, the Checkra1n team has now released Checkra1n with numerous bug fixes. Important updates for A9X devices that did not boot on 14.5-15.1 in the previous version. This is a beta release exclusive to macOS and Linux. We will notify you on the release of the Windows version in a future post.

Note: A11 devices running iOS 14.0 or later must have the passcode removed and “Skip A11 BPR check” enabled in the settings. This is not advised, although it is available.

Known issues

A7 devices are not presently compatible with Linux

The exploit may not function dependably on certain devices, including Raspberry Pi Zero and Raspberry Pi 3.
Linux GUI creation in CLI mode does not support automated DFU mode validation on Apple TV 4K advanced class displays.

bridgeOS: If you disconnect the cord, macOS will take over the USB connection and disable communication with the T2 as soon as it boots. Some users have claimed that checkra1n crashes when the only system language is Chinese. Unknown whether any further languages are affected.

Unsupported operating systems: This beta version of checkra1n is only available for macOS and Linux. Windows support is currently being developed and will be included in a future release.

Package managers: checkra1n currently only supports installing Cydia. Support for additional package managers, such as Zebra and Installer, is imminent and is anticipated within the coming weeks.
