BYU Learning Suite: Guide to BYU LMS Login 2022-2023

BYU Learning Suite is the Learning Management System developed and maintained by Brigham Young University. It provides resources such as course content, communication (email, messaging, and online discussions in Digital Dialog), assignments, examinations or assessments, grading, scheduling, and syllabus.

How to log into byu learning suite

To access the learning suite at Brigham Young University, enter the following

  • In your web browser, go to
  • Provide your BYU NetID.
  • Enter your password then.
  • To access your dashboard, click on “Sign In.

BYU Learning Suite features drop-down and tab navigation, making it easier to transition between courses and Learning Suite applications on mobile devices.

Desktop/laptop viewing

  • Open Learning Suite, and a page with a list of courses will emerge. To view Current, Future, Past, or Community courses, click the corresponding button. Students receive one year of access to their previous courses.
  • Choose a course from the list of courses. The resulting Dashboard page allows you to examine the most recent course information.
  • To view a different course, click the drop-down menu located at the top of the screen. When you switch classes, you will typically be able to maintain the current page in the other class.
  • To return to the Course List page, select All Courses from the corresponding drop-down menu.

Mobile and tablet viewing

  • In the browser on your mobile device, navigate to Learning Suite to view a catalog of courses. To view Current, Future, Past, or Community courses, tap the drop-down arrow and choose the relevant selection.
  • Choose a course from the list to access the course’s Dashboard.
  • Click the hamburger menu (three horizontal lines in the upper-left corner) to access the navigational links for the course and tools.
  • Select the appropriate navigation link.
  • To return to the main Course List menu, click the arrow to the right of the course’s name and then select All Courses from the menu that appears.

How to submit assignments

  • Choose one of your BYU Learning Suite courses to view. Choose Assignments from the left menu when you click the Grades or Home tab and then the Assignments tab.
  • Determine the name of the task you are submitting. The green Submit button is located on the same line.
  • To select and upload your file, click the Choose File button. The file will be listed above the notes in the dialogue box. If the assignment permits the upload of multiple files, you can select numerous files to upload simultaneously.
  • You can also submit numerous files to the assignment by clicking the Choose Files option. Add any optional notes and click Submit.
  • Additionally, you can click the file’s name on the Assignments page to view assignment details. The submit/resubmit procedure is identical to that described previously.
  • A green dialog box will appear in the upper right corner, indicating that your file(s) have been uploaded successfully.
  • Click the View/Submit link on the Assignments page if you would like to review your submission or resubmit the assignment.
  • You may resubmit files until the due date of the assignment. If your instructor allows late submissions, you may submit them until the conclusion of the semester; however, they will be marked as late.

How to view feedback on your assignments

You can view professors’ comments on your assignments.

  • Navigate to your course’s Assignments page (Grades–Assignments or Home–Assignments).
  • Click the Feedback button next to the assignment for which you would like to view feedback. Note that this button is only visible if an instructor has provided assignment feedback.
  • Click the Feedback drop-down menu on the Grader’s left-hand navigation.
  • Click the X in the upper right corner of the Grader pop-up to close it and return to the Assignments page.

How to use the what if calculator

The What-If Calculator assists students in estimating their final marks by permitting the input of projected results on upcoming assignments.

  • Navigate to the selected class [for navigational assistance with Learning Suite].
  • Click the Grades tab and select the What If Calculator from the navigation on the left.
  • Enter a fictitious grade by inputting a score into the text box next to the assignment. The revised estimated final grade will be displayed at the bottom of the page. Adjust scores as desired to view potential results.
